Joanne Beh
Founder, Artist & Art Educator
Hello, I’m Joanne. You might know me as “teacher Joanne” and Art Pazionate is my passion project, born from a desire to teach art differently. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here, where I’ll be sharing my thoughts on art, creativity, and the joy of learning.
When I started Art Pazionate in 2015, my goal was to create something different. I wanted to build a studio dedicated to a holistic approach towards art education, one that goes beyond the sole focus on art skills.
The name ‘Pazionate’ comes from the word ‘Passionate.’ It’s my personal, daily reminder and commitment to remain passionate in what I do. My hope is that through my teaching and sharing, I can nurture that same passion and joy in you.
What I Believe: My 'Pazionate' Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is built on three words: Inspiring, Empowering, and Affirming.
I’m sure you’ve seen art classes where every student’s work looks almost exactly the same. I believe art should be an extension of your own personality, not a copy of a template. This is the core of what we do.
I always encourage my students—whether they’re kids, teens, or adults—to think creatively and, most importantly, not be afraid of making mistakes. My studio is a safe environment where you can be bold, explore, and find joy in the process.
My Approach: Adapting To Your Learning Preferences
As an educator, the most important lesson I’ve learned is ADAPTABILITY! I quickly realized that there is no one size fits all approach! My teaching method has to change for each student. Some kids are loud, some are quieter, and some are really active.
I’ve also had the wonderful opportunity to work with autistic children, which has its own challenges but is incredibly rewarding. I have to be flexible to find the right balance for each person, and I love that challenge. I also bring this flexible approach to the corporate art workshops I conduct, which are all about stimulating the art of team building.
I’m a registered business owner (53247369L), but at my core, I’m an artist and a teacher who believes in the power of personal touch.
A Little More About Me
My Sincere Hope for This Work
This is so important to me. I taught a child some time back who shared with me that her friend found her drawings weird. Sadly, this comment affected her so greatly that she refused to show other students her drawings.
My earnest hope is that through my art classes, and this blog, I can create an environment that empowers and inspires you to confidently create what you truly like no matter what others say. I want to help you stay true and original! 😊
My Advice for Aspiring Artists
Make it happen! 😊 Don’t let self-doubt stop you from learning and creating artworks! I hope the articles and guides I write here give you the confidence to start that journey.
